Happy Springtime

These 2 pictures were taken about one year ago right after I picked up my wedding dress! I'm here with one of my best friend's (Christina's) daughter, Ella. I love her so much. When I met Christina and Kevin, Ella had just turned 1. Before she could say my name when she was around 2 she started calling me "Ree". It just seemed easier to say as a 2 year old. I've watched her grow, and now you will never know what this 4 year old will say, she is just so cute.
She told Christina one day that she wanted me to come over. Christina said "Why do you want Hilary to come over?" Ella said, "I like Hilary because she has short curly hair like me!" That is why I love her. She is such a dollface!
When I called Christina to come over this day we decided to take some pics of me in my dress, Ella thought I was a princess, and I told her that she would be in my wedding and have a pretty dress like me. She was so excited! She wanted to get in the picture with me, so first she just stood there beside me, and then she gave me a hug. It was priceless, and Christina captured the moment in the picture!
I have this picture in a frame in my kitchen going with my springtime theme.
Happy Springtime everyone! Enjoy this beautiful weather!

my diaper cake creations

I just love doing creative things...

I started making these adorable diaper cakes a couple of years ago when my friend Christina was pregnant with Olivia. I made this pink one for her, and I made the blue one for my sister in law, Bethany when she was pregnant with my nephew Jack. I have come up with some cute themes to do in the future, these are actually pretty plain, because they were my first ones, but in the future I'm going BIG with lots of accessories to go on the diaper cakes!!! I am so excited, so if you are pregnant and you invite me to your baby shower, expect one of these adorable diaper cakes!

They are also great to use as a baby shower game of guessing how many diapers are used in the cake!

I have made more than these two, but I never took pictures of the others, and I will for now on to make a portfolio to possibly start my own business one day. But for now I'm just going to do them for fun! If you would like me to make you one, let me know and I will! :)

Good Friday Cookout

This Easter weekend started on Good Friday when Mike and I had some friends and famly over for a Good Friday cookout at our apartment. It was so much fun, we might just make it a tradition! Here are some pictures, I got some really cute ones of my nephew Jack and my friend's daughter, Liv:

The Thorn Makeup

As most of you know, I am on the makeup team for The Thorn, a production that Seacoast Church is putting on this year during this Easter season. I can't even begin to describe how many lives are being changed because of this production, not only with the people that are coming to see the show, but so many of the cast and crew lives! This opportunity is so amazing! This show is very graphic, but so good! You will most likely be crying, scared, or laughing during all different parts of the show, IT IS SO AMAZING! I just wanted to give everyone a glimpse of what I've been doing for this show, and I hope that you will try to buy tickets and come to the show! Most of the shows are already sold out, so they added a new show this Saturday at 10am that I know there are a lot of tickets left. I hope you can experience your life being changed as you watch it!

Here is a picture of me doing makeup on one of the gymnasts... She is such a sweet girl! I am looking forward to the 7 shows this week that we are doing! I hope to see you there!
Tickets are available at http://www.thethorn.net/ for different prices

My Dear Friend Allison...

Allison's Bridal Shower
4.4.09
Given by all her friends!
Me with the Beautiful Bride

Allison with her bridesmaids
(minus Christie, she was talking somewhere and Stephanie, we missed you!)

This cake was a total hit of the party. We have now recruited Lisa Sargent to do a lot of our shower cakes, after she did my wedding cake, I now know how valuable and wonderful she is, and her cakes are so delicious! Plus, she is really affordable! Here is a link to her cake business, Let There Be Cake! http://www.lettherebecake.net/

Here are the cookies that I talked about in my recent post, I did purple and pink for Allison's wedding colors with an R on them for her new last name Rankin! They turned out great until I dropped one of the trays when I was loading them in my car (I need to figure a better way for transporting them. but luckily it only messed up a few, so we ate those before everyone else got there!

Allison's gift pile!

Christina made this poster of Allison and AJ. It has pictures of them when they were younger, and some engagement pics. We also had a guest book for everyone to write sweet things for Allison. It is so sweet! :)

Christina and I, we love planning parties together!
